Privacy notice

This notice explains what personal data we collect through this website, why we collect it and how it is handled. We have kept the website deliberately simple: it sets no cookies and uses no advertising or cross-site tracking.

Who is responsible for your data

What we collect through the contact form

When you send us an inquiry, we receive:

• your name, business email address and company name;
• the message you write, and the date and time it was sent;
• optionally, the type of assistance you selected and any business challenges you ticked on the page;
• the language version of the website (English or Hungarian) you sent the inquiry from;
• how you found the website, if available: the campaign parameters in the link you used (for example “utm_source=linkedin”), the name of the website that referred you (for example “linkedin.com”, not the full address) and the page you arrived on.

Please do not include passwords, financial account details, confidential documents or special categories of personal data in your message.

When you write to us by email, we receive the information contained in your email in the same way.

Why we use it and on what basis

We use this information only to read and answer your inquiry, to discuss a possible project with you and, if we work together, to prepare and carry out that cooperation. We use the “how you found us” details to understand which of our activities lead to inquiries. The legal basis is taking steps at your request before entering into a contract (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR) and our legitimate interest in responding to and understanding business inquiries (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR). We do not use your details for newsletters or automated decision-making, and we do not sell them.

How the contact form works

The form sends your inquiry over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection to a small server-side function hosted on Microsoft Azure. That function checks the input and passes it to Azure Communication Services, which sends it as an email to our address. Email to our address, including email you send us directly, is received by Cloudflare Email Routing and forwarded to our mailbox. The function does not store your message and does not write its content to logs.

To protect the form from abuse, the function temporarily keeps a one-way hashed form of your IP address in memory for up to ten minutes to limit repeated submissions. As with most hosting services, Microsoft Azure may also record technical connection data (such as IP addresses) for security and operational purposes.

Who receives your data

We use the following service providers, who process data on our behalf or provide the infrastructure we rely on:

• Microsoft Azure (Static Web Apps and Azure Functions) – website hosting and the contact form function;
• Microsoft Azure Communication Services – delivery of the inquiry email;
• Cloudflare, Inc. (Cloudflare Email Routing) – receives email sent to our address and forwards it to our mailbox;
• Microsoft (Outlook.com) – our email mailbox, where your inquiry is stored;

Microsoft and Cloudflare may process data outside the European Economic Area. Details of how they protect personal data, including the safeguards they use for international transfers, are available in the Microsoft Privacy Statement and the Cloudflare Privacy Policy.

How long we keep it

We keep inquiries for as long as needed to handle them. If an inquiry does not lead to a business relationship, we delete it within 12 months of our last communication. If we start working together, related correspondence is kept for as long as required for the cooperation and any applicable legal retention obligations.

Website statistics

This website does not currently use analytics. If we add privacy-focused statistics in the future, this section will describe exactly what is collected.

Cookies and browser storage

This website does not set cookies. Fonts are served from our own domain, so no request is made to third-party font services when you visit.

If you choose a language with the language switcher, your browser remembers that choice in its local storage (under the name “sitd:lang”), so the website opens in the same language on your next visit. If you switch language while filling in the contact form, what you have typed and the challenges you ticked are kept in your browser’s session storage for that tab only until the other language version has loaded, and then deleted. This information stays on your device, is not sent to us and is not used for tracking. You can remove it at any time by clearing this website’s data in your browser.

Your rights

Subject to the conditions set out in the GDPR, you have the right to request access to, correction or erasure of your personal data, to restrict or object to its processing, and to data portability. To exercise these rights, email us at contact@smartitdevelopments.com.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority – in Hungary, the Nemzeti Adatvédelmi és Információszabadság Hatóság (NAIH, naih.hu), or the authority in the country where you live or work.

Changes to this notice

If we change how we handle personal data, we will update this notice and the date at the top of the page.
